Plan a Toddle Unit — Cheat Sheet
This cheat sheet follows the four steps in Video 1 to create a Unit Plan.

Step 1. Basic Details
a) Title and Subject/s
b) Unit Overview: private to you and Admin
c) Shareable Unit Summary: parents can see this
Step 2. Identify Curriculum
a) Subject Standards: choose the standards/descriptors covered in this unit
b) Skills: select skills students will use
c) Learner Profile: choose one: Reflective, Relational, Resilient, Resourceful, (5R school values)
d) Biblical Worldview: choose one: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration
Step 3. Plan Assessment
a) Formative: title & standard code/s
b) Summative: title & standard code/s
For example –
Task 1: Paint a Monet pond & add a frog – VA1
Task 2: Sculpt a clay frog with pinch pot – VA4
Step 4. Plan Learning Experiences (LE)
a) Prior Learning
Write a short statement of prior knowledge related to the unit
b) Learning Experiences
Summary must include: title, descriptor code/s, Walt & Wilf.
Even if you create LEs, you must still create a summary.
For example –
Task 1: Paint Monet pond – AVA8E01, AVA8P01
Walt: How reflections alter water. Wilf: Manipulate colour for depth.
Task 2: Frog Sculpture – VA8E02, VA8C01
Walt: Shape/transform clay into form. Wilf: Sculpt realistic 3D frog.
c) NCCD Adjustments
List support for students on ILPs, for each task. For example –
Support Level: 🟦 Differentiate, 🟨 Supplement, 🟪 Substantial, 🟥 Extensive
Disability Categories: Cognitive¹, Physical², Social/Emotional³, Sensory⁴
Student Names: 🟦 Batman¹, Neo², 🟨 Frodo¹, 🟪 Groot², Dusty⁴, 🟥 Prof X¹
Task 1: 🟦 Light box tracing for perspective¹, 🟨 Pre-drawn outlines¹
Task 2: 🟦 Step-by-step sculpting breakdowns¹, 🟨 Pre-cut templates²
Task 3: none needed
d) Resources
List what’s needed per task. For example –
Task 1: Monet’s Pond Painting – Water Lilies (1906) print for reference
Task 2: Frog Sculpture – Teacher example of clay frog step by step
